Eleanor Parker was an American actress  born on June 26, 1922 at  Cedarville, Ohio, USA,

Also known as Eleanor Jean Parker was a leading actress of 1940's and 1950's.

 she studied her acting training at the Pasadena Playhouse in California

She signed a contract with Warner Bros. on her 18th birthday 

She was suspended twice by Warners for refusing to work in films one in Stallion Road and another in Love and Learn

In the 1950's she was nominated three times for the Best Actress Academy Award.

Her greatest role came in "The sound of Music" when she was 43 years old.

She died on 9 December, 2013 at the age of 91 due to pneumonia.
